With this info, there is now officially no way to get the “What to Do Blues” this April! School vacation is just around the corner so it’s a good idea to register for these as soon as you can. Vacation is MONDAY, APRIL 16 – FRIDAY, APRIL 20.

At the Salem YMCA

Gym & Swim, Monday, April 16 – Friday, April 20, 9 a.m. – noon, YMCA. Ages 5-8. $60 members; $75 non-members. Play in the gym, swim in the pool. 978-740-9622

Healthy Spirit, Mind and Body, Monday, April 16, Wednesday, April 18 and Friday, April 20, 10 a.m. – 11 a.m., YMCA. Ages 5-8. $15 members; $25 non-members. Yoga, healthy cooking, and team-building games. 978-740-9622

Environmental Science and Technology, Monday, April 16 – Friday, April 20, 1 p.m. – 4 p.m., YMCA. Ages 8-12. $75 members; $90 non-members. Learn through hands-on experiments. 978-740-9622

You Are What You Eat, Monday, April 16 – Friday, April 20, 9 a.m. – noon, YMCA. Ages 8-12. $75 members; $90 non-members. Cooking class exploring links between what you eat and how you perform. 978-740-9622

At the Salem Senior Center

Babysitting Course, Tuesday, April 17, 9:30 a.m. – noon, Senior Center. Ages 12-15. $45. Prevention, basic first aid, CPR. Participants receive certificate of completion. 978-745-0180

Parks, Recreation and Community Services Open House, Thursday, April 19, 4 p.m. – 7 p.m., Senior Center. Showcasing many events available to Salem residents during the spring and summer. 978-745-0180

Star Wars Day: Jedi Training Workshop, Saturday, April 21, 9 a.m. – noon, and Star Wars LEGO Playland, 1 p.m. – 4 p.m., Senior Center. $45 per workshop. Lunch supervision provided for children attending both workshops. 978-745-0180

At the Peabody Essex Museum

Parents United Playdate, Tuesday, April 17, 11 a.m., Peabody Essex Museum. Meet up at the 11 a.m. performance of “Or Would You Rather Be A Fish” and then head to the bubble printing activity.

Our Watery World, Monday – Thursday, April 16-19, 10 a.m. – 5 p.m. Free to Salem residents. Celebrate Earth Day with four days of performances, art and activities

Family Poetry Festival, Friday, April 20, 10 a.m. – 5 p.m., and Saturday, April 21, 10 a.m. – 4 p.m., Peabody Essex Museum. Free to Salem residents. Celebration of words as art.

At the Phoenix School

Around the World Magical Mystery Tour, Tuesday, April 17 – Friday, April 20, 8 a.m. – 3 p.m. (late day option ’til 5 p.m. for $15 a day). Grades K-6. $50 a day. Pregister by April 12.

Adopted Family All set for Thanksgiving!

Thanks to all that are contributing to our adopted family this Holiday Season. Thanksgiving is all set, just need to deliver. However, The Salem YMCA is accepting any kind of canned goods through the holidays.
